Biobank Technical Scientific Committee
The Technical Scientific Committee (CTS) of the Research Biobank of the University Hospital of Padua is a crucial body, responsible for evaluating the validity and relevance of scientific projects submitted by those requesting biological samples from the Biobank. This committee ensures that the Biobank operates according to rigorous and transparent scientific criteria.
The role of the CTS is twofold: on the one hand, it must evaluate the scientific validity of the projects, ensuring that a solid scientific basis supports each request for biological samples and contributes significantly to research; on the other hand, it must determine the relevance and priority of the various projects, based on predefined and transparent criteria. In doing so, the CTS also considers research already underway or any competing projects, to optimize the use of the Biobank's resources.
The Technical Scientific Committee is appointed by the General Director of the University Hospital of Padua and meets at least once a quarter. However, it may convene more frequently in response to the number and urgency of the requests received. Thanks to this organizational structure, the Biobank guarantees a rapid, efficient, and transparent project evaluation process, maintaining high scientific and operational standards.
